Hi, I’m Nancy Fox, I’m president of Fox Coaching Associates and I’m the Business Development Specialist. Welcome to my One Minute U clip on How to Make Rain Without The Pain. Today, I’m going to take away all that discomfort you might have about being a rain maker and getting new clients.
You know the number on reason people that most people avoid going to networking events? They just don’t want to sound like a sales person- sounds pretty awful doesn’t it? The number one reason that people sound like sales people is because they’re selling. So stop selling and start asking some really great question. The next time you go to a networking event, start asking you newly met colleagues open ending questions about their business such as, “Tell me about your business” or “How did you start your business, what are some of the biggest challenges in your business?” You’re going to sound like the most interesting person in the room and you won’t be selling a thing. That’s not painful at all, is it?
