Hello, my name is Ralf Hennig, Iím the creator of the Performance Ball and the author of Four Way Burn, published by Rodell Press. Itís not about the large muscle groups. Itís about the support team, the ones we donít see, the ones behind, in and around the joints. Youíre only as strong as your weakest link. And thatís why lots of weight will not address these problems [inaudible]. Lighter weight, more repetition, and the range of motion is, in essence, the most important aspect to stay healthy and to stay fit.
Hereís a simple move. Use a light weight, like the weighted ball here I have, and extend and reach out as far as you can until the arm is fully extended, and then you switch to the other side. Here you cover the large muscle groups, but also the stabilizers, in the shoulder girdle, the elbow and your wrists and fingers at the same time.
