Hi. I’m David Brownstein, and welcome to the Leadership Studio. Today we’re going talk about managing accountability and the three questions involved in that. The questions are these:
*What will you do?
*When you will you do it?
*And, how will I know?
What will you do is about is about defining the parameters, defining the question, defining the task at hand. What are the goals? What are the unanswered questions? What are the unasked questions? – Really understanding what the goals are.
Number two: the deadline. Is it due in ten minutes? Is it due in three days? Is it due tomorrow at 4:00 o’clock? Really get clear for you and the person you’re working with what is the deadline.
And, number three: how will I know you did it? How will you know that I did it? That way we complete the process, there is no uncertainty, everybody knows exactly what’s expected of them and everyone can relax and let the other person do what they need to do.
