Peter Miller, Literary & Film Manager discusses the keys to winning non fiction book proposal.
Hello, Iím Peter Miller. Iím a salesman, I sell books for a living - Iíve sold over a thousand books. All of the non-fiction books that I sell are based on non-fiction book proposals, and you have to write a great, stellar proposal. I highly recommend you read my book, Author Screenwriter, you can find it on amozon.com, or on our website, pmalifilm.com.
The proposal that you write is the most important thing that you can do in presenting yourself to agents, and ultimately, to publishers. I just went into the market today with a fabulous proposal that Iíve been developing for three months with the author. We put it through six rewrites - writing is re-writing. Do a great job, get a great agent or manager to represent you, and make a fabulous deal for a hard cover book that will be published by Simon and Schuster, Random House, or Knopf or Viking. Good Luck.
