I would like you to understand something about sharps and flats. They confuse everybody, itís really a big mistake and we just keep continuing that mistake because a thousand years ago there were no sharps and flats; there was just a group of notes. When they discovered that between a note, for instance, between one note called A and one note called B, that there was a note between them, no one knew what to call the thing. How would you call a note between A and B - A plus, B minus? So basically they called it A sharpened and B flattened. So hereís a note, this is G, this is A. So if I take G up one fret, thatís G sharp. If I take A down one fret, thatís A flat. So G sharp, A flat, are the same note. Flats and sharps are the lost notes. They are just in between the letters.
