Hi, I’m Susan Berkley, voice that says, “Thank you for using AT&T”. Yes, I am a professional voice talent, and the author of the book, Speak to Influence, How to Unlock the Hidden Power of Your Voice. And today, we are going to talk about the power of your voice and how to talk into a microphone without popping your Ps.
You see, the reason that we pop our Ps when we talk into a mic is because the air from our words, especial the Ps and the Bs, hits the mic. Try this, “Peter Piper picked a pack of pickled peppers” - feel the air hitting your hand? When you talk into a mic, all you need to do is talk over it or under it, like that. That way the air will never hit the mic and you will never pop your Ps.
