…Dr. Jason Chen, I’m a chiropractor and an acupuncturist. Migraine is a dilation of blood vessels in the brain which cause one sided headache usually brought about by chemical stimulus, by food, and by stress.
In traditional Chinese medicine, we believe that migraine has to do with energy disturbance in the liver and gallbladder meridian. There are some acupressure points that we can use to relieve migraines. One is at the temple. One is right above the ear. One is at an indentation right beneath the skull, and if you run your hand down, there should be a tight, ropy feeling when you have an onset of migraine.
When you have a migraine that you see light, then you can use a point here, in the middle of an eyebrow. By pressing these two or three minutes a day, that should give you some relief.
