When do I See Bang For My PR Buck?

A campaign can take up to two to three months before you see any significant results. Some take less time than others. There is no easy answer. Regardless of how long it takes before you land your first interview, you have to be prepared and committed to be in it for the long haul.

This is a tough one to answer, because each campaign has its own life. I have been involved in campaigns that have proven successful before we even began officially working on the campaign. A media outlet called the client and within a day he was on national TV. This is by no means the norm, but there are actually several instances where I met with a prospective client, we agreed to work together, set a starting date, and before that date arrived, we were able to place the client on TV or in the newspaper, resulting in an increase in the client's business. There are other instances where we have placed clients in the media within hours of starting the campaign. These <a href=""target="_blank">success stories</a> came about because of timing, credibility, and our ongoing relationship with the media. In these instances, the media called about specific topics, and our new clients fit the bill. Since we'd had no time to begin working on the campaign, we had no releases, bios, or information whatsoever to send. The media had to rely on our assurance that our clients were exactly who they needed.

Generally we need to nurture and build a campaign. Even when we get a hit or two right out of the box, it is a long term cumulative process. So, yes, some campaigns begin with a bang, but all campaigns take time to develop. A campaign can take up to two to three months before you see any significant results. we have run are those of clients who have been with us two years, fours years, or more. These are campaigns that have been given the time and energy to grow and flourish. These are not one-hit wonders; they are well-orchestrated, ongoing campaigns, that have firmly established our clients as experts in their fields. To launch an effective campaign takes expertise and proper execution, as well as patience and realistic expectations.
