Hello. My name is Todd Langford and Iím with the law offices of Eric Hanscom. Today we are going to talk briefly about why itís important that you receive patent protection for your invention.
If you receive a patent for your invention, youíre aloud to stop others from making, using, or selling your patented invention without your permission. In exchange for receiving the permission to make the user sell your invention, you can receive licensing fees or royalties. Additionally, you could sell your patent to someone else in exchange for a set amount of money.
If someone were to infringe your patent by making, selling, or using your invention without your permission, you could take them to court and sew them for damages, or even obtain a court order ordering them to stop making, using and selling your invention.
