Discover necessary elements for effective promotional brochures and where to place them in your layout for maximum response. Sheryl Roush trains designers of any level how to design effective marketing materials. Available for in-house seminars.
Hi, I’m Sheryl Roush with your solid gold design marketing tips – of what can you use in your business and in any type of promotional material to get response and get the business. There are three stages that we need to communicate with our reader.
Stage one is called relevance, where we help the reader answer the question of “what’s in it for me? What are the benefits? Why should I do business with you?” And the time available is as brief as one to seven seconds to create the relevance factor.
Stage number two is confirmation, where we help the reader by browsing the material, skimming through, hitting the bullet points, helping them to confirm: “Yes, this would be perfect for me or my business” or “Why should I buy this”? Up to ninety seconds we have with the longer body copy throughout our marketing materials to create that confirmation message.
And finally, stage three is action. Make sure to tell the reader what it is that you want them to do as a result of reading your piece. Whether its: call today, email, fax back, go onto the website - you need to create the type of action that you want.
