Next minute, weíre going to learn to control the ball on our thigh. This is used in a game to bring a high bouncing ball, or a ball kicked high, on your thigh, down to the ground for easy control.
Very simple to start with, youíre going balance on our left leg, for me, because Iím right footed. If youíre left footed, youíll balance on your right leg.
When you get balance, the aim is going to bring my thigh up at a slight angle so the ball can hit my thigh. As the ball hits my thigh, I want to bring my thigh down so the ball drops to the ground. Letís try, very simple, Iím going to hold the ball, drop it - let it drop down. Alright, keep repeating it and repeating it until we get the ball right in front of us.
When you feel very confident with it, you can start to throw the ball a little bit higher. If you become more confident, have someone throw the ball to you.
