Iím Dr. Ana Kosok, therapist and life coach. Letís talk about cravings if youíre not drinking today or for a while and you find out you are having strong cravings to drink. Let me tell you a couple things:
First of all, cravings donít last forever. You can ride them out, kinda like riding a wave. Another thing to do is ride it out Ė ďI wanna drink, I wanna drink, I wanna drink, Iíll die if I donít have a drinkĒ, and then youíll logically say to your self, ďno I wonít dieĒ.
Another thing to do: go out of the house. Go to a movie, go to the gym, call a friend who understands. A lot of the times we drink as an escape, so find another escape. Watch TV, read a trashy novel, go to sleep early, eat ice cream, chocolate, or my personal favorite, have sex.
