People worry about writing that cover letter; what am I going to say? Well here is the formula for a winning cover letter. If you’re responding, this is for if you’re responding to an ad, “Dear Miss Johnson, I’m delighted that I saw you ad, number 4364B on monster.com, because I believe I’m really well-qualified for the position”.
Then you divide the letter into 2 columns and on the left side you put the qualifications listed in the job ad and then on the right side how you meet those requirements. That way they can’t screen your job ad, you can’t screen your application out. Then say at the end, “Of course there’s more to me than can be included in a letter. So I hoping you’re going to meet with me because people say they really enjoy working with me”.
So, you write a cover letter like that and your chances are great of getting past that screening. The next thing you got to do is whoa them in the interview.
