It reminds me of the story of a couple that got a cat, no sooner did the cat come home that it started clawing on the couch. They picked it up, they put it outside. An hour later, the cat started clawing on the couch; they picked it up and put it outside. From then on, whenever the cat wanted to go outside, who’s teaching who? Next time you want your kinds to listen to you, do these three things:
Say, “Give me your eyes”, because if they’re not looking, they’re not listening.
Second, is be sure and give them something measurable, “TV off in five minutes” and when they start complaining, instead of repeating, raise your eyebrows instead not your voice.
