Find out what the 4 different contexts of conversations are and learn how they can empower your life.
There are four contexts for conversations.
The first context is: “I’m greater than you, do what I say”.
The second context is: “I’m less than you; tell me what to do”.
The third context is: “You know; some people have amazing things in life, but you don’t’ and I don’t - so why bother? Let’s go have a beer”.
The fourth context is: “I believe in you”.
These four contexts show up in every conversation that we have. When you approach people, do you tend to be the parent, telling them what to do? That’s conversation one. Or do you tend to be like, “Oh my gosh. You know; I hope I’m not in the way”- that’s conversation two. Conversation three is, “Ah, cynical. Why bother? Let’s just go have a beer”. And conversation four is where you hold a standard of excellence in every conversation. Having that context, where you hold yourself to a high standard, and when you speak to people, you don’t let them belittle themselves or diminish themselves. You hold them accountable for having powerful conversations. And that’s conversation four - practice it in every conversation you have.
